Four simple tips to stay organised and minimalise stress at uni & school

Going back to uni, school or work for some isn’t the most exciting thing, and thats because theres work, deadlines and exams which normally leads to stress. I am going to give you few little tips in order to make yourself more organised and minimalise your stress levels.

Tip number one:

This may seem like a no brainer, but read through your given brief, mark scheme and grade criteria until YOU understand it, so that you know exactly what you need to do and what is expected of you. Once you have done this draw yourself a time line starting from the deadline and working yourself back and then can create a tick list for what needs to be done for each week and BE STRICT on yourself. By doing this you are breaking down everything that you need to do and doesn’t look as daunting to start your work.

Tip number two:

As much as it sounds silly, go and treat yourself to some nice, “pretty” stationery, you will be suprised how much work you will want to do once you have some nice pens or notebooks to work with. You can find some stationery really cheap or you can push the boat out and spend a little bit more. Personally i am a huge stationery addict and wherever i seem to go i always pick some up. A few shops which i love are:

  • Primark

Tip number three:

Write lists either every night just before you go to bed, or every morning as you are waking up on what you want to get done during the day, and the feeling of ticking each one off is such an achievment.

If you’re not as old fashioned as me and would prefer something digitial, my friend introduced to me the app called BEAR, its on the app store and is completely free, its a much clearer lay out compared to apple notes, and you can create tick lists and create a clear layout for you to work with.

Tip number four: 

You know what they say “tidy room, tidy mind” – It works!!! If you give everything a space and always put it away, you will more than likely remain calm and stay on top of things. I usually have an area for all my stationery and books to go and clear space for where i work. You can go and get wired trays and baskets really cheap from places like Ikea and Primark.
