four skincare products you NEED to invest in for ALL skin types.

Skincare is such a tedious subject, everyone has different types of skin and different products that work for them. For me investing in good quality products is a no brainer, i like to make sure that what i am putting on my face will:

  • Will do something to improve my skin
  • Completes the purpose of the product
  • Won’t damage my skin.

Before i talk about these products i should probably tell you what my skin type is. I have combination skin, this is where your T zone is oily however the rest of your face is slightly dry/normal. At certain times of the year i will get a lot of spots, and at other times my skin seems to be quite clear. This will depend on what i’m eating, the environment im in, how i am cleansing my face and if its my time of the month. Due to this i do also have spot scars as i am prone to pick at my face, whoops.

I am a firm believer in NOT sleeping in your make up, i am someone who needs to go to sleep with a cleansed face no matter how tired i am.

FACT: Whilst you are sleeping, your skin is constantly working to repair damage from the days pollution, sun, and stress. Making sure you drink enough water is crucial due to you loosing more water than normal whilst you sleep. This is why its best to keep your skin cleansed before you go to sleep, so that your skin can do its job as you sleep.

All the products listed below can be used on ALL skin types and contain no parabens.

PRODUCTS:

  1. PIXI + CAROLINE HIRONS DOUBLE CLEANSE :

When i heard that Caroline Hirons, skincare specialist and blogger, had colaborated with pixi to make this product i knew it was going to be a good one. I have never felt so satisfied with a cleanser before. I have tried a LOT of cleansers, and this is by far a winner. This product comes in a round 100ml pot. The two cleansers are split and in the best way i can describe it, is in a ying yang sign.

The first step is the solid cleansing balm (this is only used in the evening) helps dissolve oil-based make up, SPF and pollutants without disturbing you skin’s natural barrier. The light, silky and gentle texture containing vitamin E, camellia and evening primrose oils goes a long way meaning you only need to use a pea sized amount on your finger and gently work the product in. The product doesn’t really have a scent and doesn’t hurt your eyes either.

The second step is to apply the cleansing cream, full of brightening, collagen-boosting vitamin C and elasticising arginine whilst helping fight daily elemental stress – replenishing precious moisture and encouraging renewal. This product can also be used in the morning on its own. This is a very light and gentle texture needing only a pea sized amount.

This is an amazing cleasner and just gives you that reassurance that your face has been fully cleansed. I personally would love it if they produced a bigger version as i find the product doesn’t last very long.

PRICE: £24.00

CAN BE FOUND: PIXI, M&S, CULT BEAUTY, & MORE.

2. PIXI GLOW TONIC – EXFOLIATING TONER:

When this product became really popular i was hearing nothing but good reviews about it. I wasn’t that interested in getting hold of the product initially but i asked for the smaller version for christmas and fell in love with it.

I saw a huge improvment with my skin when using this product, i find that i don’t get as many spots and when i do they won’t last as long as they normally do. I really like the concept of this product as its an exfoliant for the skin without using any harsh grains on my face. Sometimes i found that when using a sand filled exfoliator, my face seemed to get very senstive. I normally apply this in the evening after my cleanse, however this can be used the mornings too. Most toners are not normally advised as they seem to not only remove dirt from the face but also remove the natural oils from the face, this one is not one of those and works really well with ensuring that the natural oils stay in tact.

PRICE: £18.00

CAN BE FOUND: PIXI, M&S, CULT BEAUTY, & MORE.

3. GEMAINE DE CAPUCCINI – MULTI – REGENERATING ROSE HIP OIL :

I suffer from quite bad scarring and redness on my face from previous spots. After researching about how to help with the issues, rose hip oil was a common product which kept on popping up. There are loads of different rose hip oil’s on the market however i decided to go with this one as it has a really light texture to prevent breakouts and this one is mixed with vitamin A so that it regenerates the skin more quickly than normal rose hip oil. Its such a versitile product and can be used on the body aswell to help with stretch marks.

I can’t express enough how good this product smells, imagine sweets in an oil and you have got it. I like to put half a pump of this product on the tips of my fingers and raindrop it around the face in order to get the blood flowing. I apply this mainly in the evening and sometimes in the morning mixed in with my moisturiser. It is a pricey product for a 30ml oil, however a little goes a VERY long way and it will last you ages. It has had such an impact on my skin, just within the way my skin heals and feels. It has so many benefits to it and is one of my favourites.

PRICE: £39.60

CAN BE FOUND: NIRVANA SPA, GEMAINE DE CAPUCCI WEBSITE & MORE.

4. LA ROCHE POSAY – EFFACLAR DUO (+) :

I had been on a search for a good moisturiser for ages, something which would keep my skin hydrated and help with the blemishes on my skin too. I popped into Boots and had previously used this brand’s spot treatment before and found it worked really well. I was scanning the products for a good half an hour before i fully decided that i was going to get this one.

I apply this product on my skin every morning and evening after i have cleansed. Its an amazing formula which doesn’t leave your face feeling sticky and heavy, it feels very light whilst giving you that reasurance that your skin is being moisturised. It has a refreshing scent to it and i have found that my blemishes have reduced massively. Redness has disappeared and darker shadows have improved.

It comes in a 40ml tube with a nib, i really like this packaging as i feel its the best way to make the most of the product and ensure that none of it gets wasted.

PRICE: £16.00

CAN BE FOUND: BOOTS, AMAZON, & LA ROCHE POSAY WEBSITE & MORE

P.S the LA ROCHE POSAY website offers advice and contains really good information, if you are struggling with skincare.

Jodie xoxo

Love this! Great advice! I use rosehip oil and it helps so much with scarring, atm I’m using lavender oil on any breakouts and it instantly stops them 💛
